- The townspeople – Shows like the Simpsons depend heavily on the townspeople and it works (or worked for a long long time). But you either have to dedicate to that path or veer away from it. Characters like Principal Vagina (distracting name) and Mr. Goldenfold don’t have enough backstory or development for us to care about yet.
